Good one, Chris. I was living in Santa Fe by then, and woke up to the horror on my radio at 7:15 or so that morning. Listening to the story change, like you delineated (small plane...larger plane...jet plane...a second jet just crashed into the other tower...) was eerie. I remember thinking as I leapt out of bed and made for the TV, 1) uh-oh, this ain't no foolin' around, and pretty soon 2) this is our Pearl Harbor moment. And it was, I think, only the war lasted a lot longer, and hasn't really sputtered to an end yet.
